For me, it’s usually the jacket lifecycle. In the same way that in the Spring I’ll go coatless on day far too cold for a t-shirt, starting in September I’ll wear jackets and hoodies on days that are actually to warm for them just because there’s a wisp of chill on the breeze.

There are some other signs too:

1. The University of Michigan student population returns to Ann Arbor
2. I unconciously start driving with the windows down instead of with the A/C on
3. I stop getting the cold coffee drinks and start gettting the warm ones
4. I stop listening to the fun pop and gravitate towards playlists with 🕯️🎃🍂 in their titles

But, yeah, it’s usually the jacket.
